Oats-Semolina-Nutella Cake

Priya Mehta, my friend since college in Mumbai, India, has always been a great cook and an expert at Marwari and Rajasthani cuisine.
The first contributor to this blog, Priya shares her Oats-Semolina-Nutella Cake recipe, which she prepares for her three year old, quiet often. It takes Two Big Bowls and One Cake Mould to prepare this cake.

Give it a try this Diwali and replace your Semolina Halwa with this delicious Cake.

  • Oats (1,1/2 cup)
  • Maida (All Purpose Flour) (1/2 Cup)
  • Semolina (Rawa/Suji, Churned) (Half Cup)
  • Cocoa Powder (1/4 tsp)
  • Baking Powder (1/4 tsp)
  • Baking Soda (1/4 tsp)
  • Powdered Sugar (1/4 tsp)

  • Ghee (Heated and Melted) (1/3 cup)
  • Curd (Yoghurt) (1/2 cup)
  • Milk (1/4 cup)
  • Condensed Milk (Milkmaid is a common one used) (1/4 cup)
  • Nutella
  • Choco Chips
  • Hershey Chocolate Syrup (Optional)
Add the ingredients of Bowl 1 into the second one and mix well. Take a cake mould, grease it with butter,  and add the oats mixture. Layer it with Nutella and sprinkle choco chips. You can add Hershey's Chocolate Syrup if needed. Bake at 180 C/350 F, for 25 minutes and your cake is ready.

OPTION: If you do not have an oven at home, you can also cook the cake at a slow flame for 35-40 minutes on the stove.
